Simon sighed as he closed his eyes, clearing his thoughts before opening his eyes again taking a strike hit. He had the other knights in shock. A small lad as himself with such talent. The princess watched him from afar as she was watching him closely, holding her hand clutched to her heart. Artemis and Luna came around the corner. "There you are princess! You must be careful you could get hurt being around them while practicing.." Artemis said. Simon heard and looked over as he saw the princess as they started to walk away. "Rehema.." He thought to himself.
Simon put his sword away as he had pretty much passed his test. "Outstanding job lad, you'll be a great knight in no time!" The commander stated. Simon nodded and slightly bowed. "Thank you sir." Simon said as he brushed himself off. The other guys are jealous of his talents. "I gotta keep trying and become stronger.. so I'll always be by her side.. even if I am only a knight to her.. maybe she will notice me.." Simon thought to himself.
Rehema sighed as she was taking her lessons. "Mau power ignite!" She called out. She would summon out her Mau wand. She practiced with a dummy. Artemis and Luna guiding her. After practice she took a deep breath and exhaled.
"Great job princess!" Luna said as she rushed over. "Another great practice." Artemis said.
Rehema smiled as she put her weapon away. "The next lesson is art and then evening dance lessons." Artemis said looking at his checklist. "Here princess, I know your schedule is a little tight today so I brought you a snack." Luna said, handing her an apple as they went towards the next lesson. Rehema eats the apple that Luna had given her. "Red and delicious. " Rehema said to herself.
Simon calmly went to his place and cleaned up by taking his clothes off and laying his sword near him and he washed up. The only thing on his mind was her. Her beautiful dark gray silky hair, her gorgeous bright green eyes. Her soft, kind voice had his heart racing. He shook his head as the water hit his face. "What am I thinking.. I am a knight and she is a princess that would never work you moron... as if the princess would love you." He said to himself as he was upset. "My duty is before my heart.. I must focus on my sworn duties." Simon said as he soon turned off the water and walked out of the shower. He sighed as he looked at the mirror, the water dripping down from his wet hair. "My dream..—-" Simon paused his thought as a knock was on his door. "Be right there!" He called out as he quickly dressed and went to open the door. "Captain?!" Simon said, shocked. "The King and Queen wish to see you. They have an important message in which I am not informed to know what it is about. Please go immediately!" He commanded. "Of course, I'll grab the rest of my clothes and leave immediately sir." Simon said as the captain nodded and left as he became suspicious of what they wanted him for. Simon headed towards the palace and took a deep sigh. Going in through the doors of the throne room as he was greeted by the King and Queen. Simon quickly bowed respectfully as his heart started to race in nervousness. "Do you know why you are here?" The King asked. "I honestly do not know your majesty." Simon replied. Simon had bad flowing thoughts racing in the back of his mind. "Are they going to let me go because of my age?" He questioned. The King cleared his voice. "The reason you are here is because the princess is at her final stage of training and I need a fine knight to be by her side. I saw your skills today and I was amazed by your young talent, so young.. boy you stood out to me." The King replied. Simon's face looked shocked. "Me?!" He said surprised. Simon looked around and cleared his throat. "Sorry for my behavior, your majesty. I will gladly protect the safety of the princess, you can count on me!" Simon replied his eyes looked the king right in the eye and he remained in a bow position but his arm was at his chest. "Good, you may go now." The King said. Simon nodded and quickly got on his feet and left, closing the door behind him. The Queen looked over at her King. "Are you sure about this?" The Queen asked. "I have a good feeling about this young man. The God's gave me the fate of seeing this young man in action for a reason." The King replied to his wife.
She nodded.
Simon kept walking, he looked at his beat up hands and couldn't believe his ears. "I.. am the princess's bodyguard? Am I dreaming?" He questioned as he pinched himself and felt some pain. "Ow.. guess not.." He said realizing it wasn't a dream. The princess was walking as Artemis and Luna were beside her still. He witnessed her from afar heading this way, his heart raced the moment he saw her. "Princess time to go to dance lessons now." Luna said as the princess picked up her pace. She looked completely exhausted. Simon acted calm and stood out of their way and bowed respectfully. All three of them just passed by as he then noticed something on the ground. It was shaped like a cat bell. "A brooch.." Simon said as he thought about it as he realized. "Her Brooch?!" Simon said out loud as he rushed after them. "Lady Rehema! You forgot!—-" Artemis turned around. "Pesent! How dare you call out the princess for whatever reason, can't you see the princess is late." Artemis said and Rehema looked back as Luna blocked her from moving forward. Rehema couldn't help but wonder who he was. "Please excuse my behavior, I only wish to return what I found that I believe the princess had dropped." Simon said as he kneeled down and reached out his arm showing them the brooch. "You— why do you have this?!" Artemis asked as he snatched it from his hands. "As you walked by, the princess dropped it and as her newly appointed bodyguard I wished to only serve and protect our princess." Simon replied. Rehema smiled gratefully and interrupted Artemis. "Thank you kind knight, I am honored to work by your side in the near future as my Father and Mother must have a lot of faith in you to have you by my side. I shall go now. Good day. I'll see you again when that time arrives." Rehema said as Artemis and Luna rushed off with her and scolded her. Simon smiled and his heart fluttered. "She's so kind.." He said as he walked away.
It was night now Simon was on guard outside, he would glance up and see the princess always looking out like she just wished she had wings and could fly away. She looked kinda sad. After the training was finally over Simon took over as her guardian. Artemis and Luna were both upset and asked the Queen and King why they couldn't be her guardians. The King coughed and cleared his throat. "You are still her teachers, you've not lost anything, I just need a little extra strength on our grounds to protect the princess." The King replied. Artemis and Luna were not satisfied but they dealt with it. Rehema would always sneak out of the palace wearing a brown hooded cape.
Simon started to follow the figure in brown and grabbed her by the arm as she panicked and tried to flee. "Thief! Breaking—-" He paused seeing the jewelry on her arm then at her face, looking at her beautiful green eyes up close. "Princess?!" Simon said in shock. He panicked and quickly let go of her arm. "I'm so sorry—-" Simon said as he was interrupted by her finger to his lips. "Shhh..." Rehema said as she backed away slowly. "I don't wish to be caught, I need to explore and get some fresh air once in a while." She said to him as she started to jump high in the air onto the gate. "Princess please be careful, you could get hurt..." He whispered loudly. "I'll be fine, don't worry, this isn't my first time." She soon jumped over the wall and Simon began to panic. "Princess?!" Simon called out and jumped the gate also as he landed she was already halfway gone. "Amazing.." He said surprised then soon followed her.
In the city, the town was full of people working, full of cat people singing. The labor of the Mautians was so advanced. There were kids even at play. It was like cat heaven. No wonder why the princess wanted to escape the boring castle. Simon however was having a struggle keeping up with her. After some time he found her and she was resting. He picked her up and carried her back to the palace. Rehema looked to see who it was then closed her eyes back, feeling his heart beat in her ear as she blushed lightly. Rehema woke up in her bed as Artemis and Luna were relieved. "You are awake, princess!" They both said out loud. The princess sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Of course I'm awake.. I only took a nap.." Rehema replied and looked around. "A nap?! That knight told us you passed out in the garden and he had to carry you inside." Artemis replied. "His name is Simon.. and he's going to be my general. Please respect that." Rehema replied, upset. Artemis and Luna nodded and bowed. "Sorry for our behavior princess, we just don't want anything to happen to you." Luna said. Rehema smiled. "You both are so kind and so protective of me, I could never hate you. You two are the bestest friends I have even if you are my teachers." Rehema replied. Artemis and Luna both blushing and acting shy. "You are our friends too, princess!" They both said and squealed.
Years had gone by and I Simon finally became her general of the Planet Mau and Rehema, a well loved Mautian who was loved by her people and her friends. Peace loving Mautian, she kept peace for as long as possible. Simon and Rehema would always hang around in the garden. He would always gaze and watch her as she was beautiful, no more beautiful than the flowers that she loved. "I always promised my duty before my heart. But I made that mistake.. by not realizing that I rejected her confession. Back then it didn't make much sense to me." Simon said. Later on Rehema lost her family, she almost lost the whole kingdom to the Tau Star. Pharaoh 90 and his minions had attacked the planet Mau hard. Thankfully she had help. Rehema looked at the figure with a silver twin pigtail with buns, her eyes were gray, maybe purple like hue. She had a crescent moon on her forehead and she was wearing a long white dress. "W-who are you?" Rehema had asked as she was being helped up by Simon. "My name is... Queen Serenity." Queen Serenity said.
